Checking your EBT and WIC balance costs nothing — no subscription, no trial, nothing to cancel. English and Spanish, in most states and territories, for SNAP, WIC, and Summer EBT.
Lock the card before it’s drained
Skimming is now the most common way benefits get stolen, and most people find out from an empty balance. Propel lets you lock your card between trips, block out-of-state transactions, change your PIN, and watch for suspicious activity.
Your PIN never touches their servers
Propel does not store PINs, complete EBT card numbers, or Social Security numbers. It reads your balance through your state’s own EBT system, with your permission, over an encrypted connection.
Before you decide
The catch — stated plainly
Propel is a private company, not a government program — it isn’t affiliated with SNAP, WIC, the USDA, or your state agency, and it can’t change your benefits. The Providers Card is a separate, optional product: a free mobile banking account with a Mastercard® debit card issued by Sutton Bank, Member FDIC. It is not your EBT card, and you don’t need it to use the app. Your state also offers a free EBT app, usually ebtEDGE or ConnectEBT — we think Propel does more, but you should know the alternative exists and costs nothing either.
